What is Lorazepam Hemofarm?
Lorazepam Hemofarm injection is used before certain medical procedures, such as surgery, to relieve anxiety. When Lorazepam Hemofarm is used before surgery, the patient will not remember some of the details about the procedure. Lorazepam Hemofarm is also used to treat certain convulsive (seizure) disorders, such as epilepsy.
Lorazepam Hemofarm is a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines belong to the group of medicines called central nervous system (CNS) depressants, which are medicines that slow down the nervous system.
Lorazepam Hemofarm is available only with your doctor’s prescription.
How should I use Lorazepam Hemofarm?
Use Lorazepam Hemofarm solution as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.
- Lorazepam Hemofarm solution is usually given as an injection at your doctor’s office, hospital, or clinic. If you will be using Lorazepam Hemofarm solution at home, a health care provider will teach you how to use it. Be sure you understand how to use Lorazepam Hemofarm solution. Follow the procedures you are taught when you use a dose. Contact your health care provider if you have any questions.
- Do not use Lorazepam Hemofarm solution if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
- Lorazepam Hemofarm solution should not be injected into an artery because serious side effects may occur.
- Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials. Ask your health care provider how to dispose of these materials after use. Follow all local rules for disposal.
- If you miss a dose of Lorazepam Hemofarm solution, use it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not use 2 doses at once.

Lorazepam Hemofarm dosage
Recommended Dosage
Initiate Lorazepam Hemofarm in patients who are being treated with Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets, administered three times daily in evenly divided doses (refer to the Prescribing Information of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets for the recommended dosage of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets).
Discontinue Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets and administer the first dose of Lorazepam Hemofarm in the morning the day after the final dose of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets.
The recommended once daily dosage of Lorazepam Hemofarm is equal to the total daily dose of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets. For example, the recommended dosage for patients who have been receiving Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets at a dosage of 1 mg three times daily is Lorazepam Hemofarm 3 mg once daily in the morning.
The effectiveness of Lorazepam Hemofarm use for more than 4 months has not been assessed in clinical studies. Healthcare providers should periodically re-evaluate longer term use of Lorazepam Hemofarm.
Administration Information
Administer Lorazepam Hemofarm orally once daily, in the morning, with or without food. Do not crush or chew Lorazepam Hemofarm.
Swallow Lorazepam Hemofarm capsules whole or open the capsule and sprinkle the entire contents over a tablespoon of applesauce, followed by drinking water. Consume all the sprinkled Lorazepam Hemofarm in its entirety, (without chewing) within 2 hours; do not store for future use.
Dosage Increase for Inadequate Clinical Response
If the clinical response to Lorazepam Hemofarm is inadequate and a dosage increase in needed, discontinue Lorazepam Hemofarm and switch to Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets to increase the dosage. If an adequate clinical response is achieved with a stable, evenly divided three times daily dosage of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets, resume Lorazepam Hemofarm once daily dosing with the total daily dose of Lorazepam Hemofarm tablets.
Discontinuation or Dosage Reduction of Lorazepam Hemofarm
To reduce the risk of withdrawal reactions, use a gradual taper to discontinue Lorazepam Hemofarm or reduce the dosage. If a patient develops withdrawal reactions, consider pausing the taper or increasing the dosage to the previous tapered dosage level. Subsequently decrease the dosage more slowly.
